Sketchbooks

My sketchbooks are a place to explore ideas with a freedom and playfulness that allows my work to progress and develop. For me, the activity of sketchbook work is a critical part of the process of making ceramics. It’s a process that can lead to new discoveries; some ideas lead to dead ends while others open up new and exciting possibilities. I enjoy working with different media and materials in my sketchbook and considering how techniques using non ceramic materials can be transferred into ceramics.

Always keep a sketchbook, and don’t be precious with it.
