Frame size 28.5cm x 26cm. Ceramic Tile size 20cm × 17.5cm
The dark lines have been made by insetting pieces of clay into the flat slab. They are made more prominent by being raised above the surface and by jutting out beyond the edge of the piece. I like the way they break up the already irregular outline of the tile. The textures on the pink side are made by impressing different types of grog into the soft clay. The white side has some letters (or are they numbers?) that have been applied using a monoprint technique.
