Circulation
Height 20cm Width 11.5cm Depth 5cm
There are some nice textures in this piece that has been formed by wrapping soft clay around a block of wood. Because the wood is supporting the form I can work on the piece while it’s still soft which gives a different aesthetic feel as the qualities of the soft clay are captured in the fired piece. The textures around the bottom edge are made by impressing various types of grog into the soft clay. The terracotta circle has a blue pastel line which helps to emphasise the circular shape. This mark is made with an engobe pastel that I make.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
