Height 12cm Width 12cm Depth 10cm

The textured horizontal ridges on the lighter half have been made by dragging my fingers through wet engobe. These marks relate to lines of waves, ripple marks in the sand or strata in rock formations. The incised grid like marks play an important role by crossing from one half to the other and visually tying the 2 halves together. They also remind me of repetitious human made structures that can be found in the landscape like fence posts.

Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
