Harbour Edge
Height 12cm Width 9.5cm Depth 9cm
I always enjoy experimenting with ideas and materials. In this piece I was thinking about how repetitive marks that I would normally scratch or impress into the clay could actually become more 3-dimensional. I made some small, pre fired pieces that I have pressed into the soft terracotta clay. I like how these can be seen on the outside and inside. The terracotta clay has a lovely base colour for further layers of colour to be added to.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
