Height 25cm Width 15.5cm Depth 9.5cm

The space on the surface of this piece has been divided up between a calm plain area with a pink tone and a much busier area with impressed textures drawn lines and more colours. I like the balance of this and the importance that the plain area has in enhancing the more detailed marks. The top edge has some course grog rolled into the soft clay which has been made more prominent with a wash of oxides that help to highlight each individual piece of grog. There is also an area of transparent glaze over this grogged texture that has allowed the oxide to bleed and run. The dark edge around the bottom is also important and acts almost like a base that the pot sits on.

Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
