Morning Air
Height 12cm Width 15cm Depth 7.5cm
The surface of this piece is mostly matt but the top edge has a transparent glossy glaze which is applied over some course bits of grog. I applied a small amount of cobalt oxide around this bits of grog and this has run and bled beautifully into the transparent glaze. The terracotta brush mark over the yellow is the sort of mark that can take a while to plan and just seconds to make.
Slab built vessel with incised lines, engobes, underglaze, glaze and oxides. Fired to 1140°C
